We wanted to give you a heads-up about something pretty serious going on
behind the scenes with Drug Dealer Simulator and our relationship with
Movie Games, the publisher.

A while back, Movie Games launched a legal investigation into Schedule I
and its creator, saying it was too similar to Drug Dealer Simulator
(which they publish). Since then, we, Byterunners, the devs behind DDS,
have been caught in the crossfire. We’ve been dealing with review bombs
from Schedule I fans, targeting both DDS1 and DDS2.

Things have escalated recently. Just before signing our next contract,
Movie Games changed the terms of our future cooperation and said they
wouldn’t pay us profits from console sales of DDS1 and DDS2 unless we
agreed to their new production plans. When we refused, they went ahead
and violated our copyright. Despite several attempts to settle things
peacefully, they’ve either ignored us or flat-out rejected our proposals.

Then, on August 9th, 2025, a Polish business outlet (Puls Biznesu)
published an article about the situation. Right after that, Movie Games
banned all Byterunners team members from the official DDS Discord server
and blocked our access to the DDS1 and DDS2 project files, docs, and
other materials.

After we went public, Movie Games hit us with a demand for 4.5 million
PLN (~$1.23M USD), blaming us for bugs in DDS2
