Описание: Reading Scripture Through the Eyes of Paul: How to Make the Bible ‘Come Alive’ is the 9th Annual Frank Montalbano Lecture. This free public lecture is provided for by the Frank M. Montalbano Chair of Sacred Scripture at Oblate School of Theology.

Using the letters of Saint Paul as a “test case,” this lecture will show how the Bible functions in Christian life as “the living Word of God.” It will examine Paul’s use of Sacred Scripture in the context of recent Catholic teaching on the Bible, especially the concept of “actualization.”

Sulpician Father Ronald D. Witherup, P.S.S., S.T.L., Ph.D. is Superior General of the Society of Saint Sulpice and a well-known biblical scholar. He holds a doctorate in Biblical Studies and frequently gives lectures around the world on biblical and theological themes. He is also the author of many publications, including the recent Paul, Proclaiming Christ Crucified (2016), and Saint Paul and the New Evangelization (2013). He served as New Testament editor for The Little Rock Scripture Study Bible (2010) and is currently an editor for a one-volume Bible commentary to be published in 2018.
