Our journey to Tibet begins! From Koh Samui to Bangkok, then on to Kunming, we took our time to adjust to the altitude before making our way to Lhasa. While in Kunming, we also stocked up on waterproof clothing and some preventative medicine for altitude sickness—important prep since we’ll be going from sea level to 5,200m in the coming week!

Tibet has always felt like a far-off, almost unreachable destination, and finally being able to go there is something we’re beyond grateful for. Over the next days, we’ll be exploring Tibetan culture, religion, and food with Eastogo, a tour company in China that specializes in small group, in-depth adventures through Tibet and Western Sichuan, focusing on nature, culture, and wildlife.
