Tadaa!!! Hey Ace! :D So when I heard I got you for my secret santa I decided on doing Octopath right away since I saw your collab with Lena. Wasn't quite sure with song choice…even asked Lena for help and she told me 'upbeat?' which meant…effects. Thankfully you posted your preferences and playlist for songs, because that pretty much settled what I was going to edit for you. DNCE is 10/10. And I too would die for Therion. I also myself enjoy this ship quite a bit. I also love how I'd consider Alfyn and Therion's signature colours green and purple, respectively and those are your signature editing colours…so guess the ship fits heh.

Anyway, I hope you like this! You're such a talented fx editor yourself so I was wondering how I should tackle this edit…but then again as a present I figured it'd be better to just go along with my style. I did check out some inspo in some places but my thought process ended up like this:

Me: yeets that out of the window aiGht on the left we've got TRIANGLES. On the right we've got VOICEOVERS. And straight down the middle we got that PLAIN NEON BACKGROUND.

Me: oof this is a bit tiring, maybe I should just stop here, this was a bit ambitious to do the whole chorus, I mean I'm mainly a raw and/or clip editor really so I -
Therion: don't start things you can't finish
Me: yes sir. I put that voiceover there myself but…yes sir.

And that's how we ended up here. (Kind of).

I did plan this video out with this length in mind. The absolute first thing that happened was that my mind registered octopath as a game with sprites so my TWEWY-editing mode kicked in and made me go search for voiceovers…and I placed them all down before starting editing anything pfft.

Anyway, I did it super simple at the start, not much colour and then boom chorus comes in. I wanted the flow to be a bit jumpy…sharp…like triangles. -bdm tss-. If you squint, you might be able to spot that during the bits with circle transitions, the words flow in a bit more smoother…like the smoothness of a circle. I kinda changed up the flow to hit more beats in the second chorus, too. Aka no. 98 in things I do randomly that people probs won't notice (until I've said so here ahahahaha).

Oh, and the last part with the super random voiceover was because I really wanted to use it lmao also based on your octopath traveller vines I thought I had a higher chance than usual that my humour would be appreciated lmaooo.

I'm rambling now, but yes I did actually have quite a bit of fun making this and hope you had fun watching :)
