Kalasatama, a former harbour area in Helsinki, is an active smart city experimentation and innovation district to co-create smart and clean urban infrastructure and services. The vision “One more hour a day” means easiness of living, better services, resource-efficiency and more time for yourself.
Run by the city-owned innovation company Forum Virium Helsinki, the Smart Kalasatama project drived Kalasatama’s transition into a smart and sustainable district from 2013 to 2021.
