মুর্শিদাবাদের মতিঝিলেও রয়েছে রহস্য, গুপ্তঘর রহস্য। দরজা জানালা বিহীন একটি ঘর এই গুপ্তঘর। ইংরেজরা যখন এই বাংলা বিহার উড়িষ্যার পুরোদস্তর দখল নেয় তখন তাদের চোখ পড়ে এই দরজা জানালাবিহীন ঘরটির ওপর। গুপ্ত ধনের লোভে ঘরটির সামনে কামান ফিট করা হলো, গোলা নিক্ষেপ করা হলো। কামানের গোলায় ঘরটি ধ্বংস না হলেও ধ্বংস হয়ে গেলো কামান চালক। গোলা ছোড়ার পরই রক্তবমি করে মারা যান কামান চালক। তারপর থেকে অাজ অবধি রহস্যই রয়ে গেলা। কারও জানা হলো না ঘরটিতে কি এমন রাখতেন ঘষেটি বেগম! অাজ তারা কেউ নেই তবে এই মতিঝিল রয়ে গেছে, রয়ে গেছে গুপ্ত ঘরটি, সাথে রয়ে গেছে রহস্য।
