New Buffalo is considered to be a gateway into Michigan as it is the first city in Michigan along Lake Michigan just north of the Michigan and Indiana border. New Buffalo has quite a nice, small downtown area with shops and restaurants, a beach along Lake Michigan with sand dunes, and even a railroad museum. I also stop at Brewster's for some great Italian food for dinner.
