AH-1Z Viper Attack Helicopters Start-Up & Takeoff U.S. Marine Corps "Gunfighters" BUR

Описание: 10-16-25 A Marine Corps AH-1Z Viper helicopter with 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing crashed in Southern California Thursday evening, leaving one pilot dead and another injured.
The helicopter, assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 369, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, was on a “routine” training flight when they suffered an “aviation mishap” just after 7 p.m. on Oct. 16, 3rd Marine Aviation Wing said on Friday afternoon. The AH-1Z Viper went down near Imperial Gables, a remote part of southeastern California a few dozen miles northwest of Yuma Proving Ground. Emergency crews transported one pilot to Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley, California, where the Marine was confirmed to have died. The other pilot was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California and is in stable condition, according to 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing.

These Helicopters are from the Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 369 (HMLA-369) is a United States Marine Corps helicopter squadron consisting of AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters and UH-1Y Venom utility helicopters. The squadron, also known as the "Gunfighters", is based at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, California and falls under the command of Marine Aircraft Group 39 (MAG-39) and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (3rd MAW).
The Bell AH-1Z Viper is a twin-engine attack helicopter, based on the AH-1W SuperCobra, designed and produced by the American aerospace manufacturer Bell Helicopter. Being one of the latest members of the prolific Bell Huey family, it is also called "Zulu Cobra", based on the military phonetic alphabet pronunciation of its variant letter.
