How to Adjust Electric Water Heater Temperature | Easy to follow Step-by-Step Tutorial

Описание: Is your HOT water too hot or cold? In this video I will show you how to adjust Electric water heater temperature on your electric water heater. A number of homeowners ask me what the proper temperature to set your hot water heater at. The EPA recommends setting your water heater at 120 degrees, but depending on your home, that setting may not be ideal. What most homeowners don't realize is setting the temperature too low on your water heater can be just as bad as setting it too high. By setting your water heater temperature below 120 degrees, may cause for a cold shower, but even worse there may be bacteria growing in your water heater tank. If you have children and your worried the water temperature may be to hot there is a work around for this. You can install a hot water tank booster. This allows you to store hot water in the tank avoiding bacteria growth, but cools the water before it reaches the fixtures in your home so you don't get scalded. The hot water booster mixes hot water from the tank with cool water from the input valve giving you a desirable temperature. This booster will also make your hot water last longer. The recommended water heater temperature is between 120 and 140 degrees. Be sure to test different settings to determine the ideal temperature for your home. Any DIYer should be able to complete the adjustment of the electric water heater temperature in about 20-30 minutes.
