A woman had a very strange fate. Every time Allah would grant her a son, but the child would die a few months after birth. This happened not once, not twice, but twenty times in a row.
After each death, the woman would be patient and be content with Allah's decision. But after the twentieth child died, her patience broke.
In the middle of the night, she stood up like a living corpse and fell down in prostration before Allah and started crying profusely. With a full heart, she said,
"O Lord of heaven and earth! What crime has this sinful slave of yours committed? I carried them in my womb for nine months and raised them with my own blood. But whenever the tree of hope bears fruit, I am only blessed with seeing their face for a few months. Every moment my heart trembles with fear, will my child survive? O Lord, who knows the hearts of the suffering! Have mercy on me."
She fell asleep while praying while crying. In her dream, she saw that she was walking in a large and beautiful garden. Suddenly, she saw a huge palace with her own name written on it!
She was overwhelmed with happiness when she saw the splendor of the palace. When she entered, she saw all the blessings of the world stored there. And the biggest surprise was that her twenty dead children were playing there! Seeing her mother, they were overwhelmed with happiness.
Then an unseen voice came,
"O my servant! The patience you had in the death of your children in the world, this paradise and palace are the reward for it.
You were supposed to worship a lot. But since you were lazy in worship, Allah has compensated you with this calamity (the pain of losing a child) (and has given you this high status in paradise)."
She woke up from her sleep in the heat of joy. After waking up, all the sorrows and troubles in his mind evaporated like camphor. He raised his hands to Allah with wet eyes and said:
"O Allah! I am satisfied. Now if you further injure my liver, I have no objection. Even if you keep me in such pain for a hundred years, I still have no complaints. Because, what you have given in return for my little patience is beyond my imagination."
A person should hold on to the rope of patience in all circumstances. Because, being patient in times of trouble brings a person closest to Allah and its reward is beyond imagination.
