The Ryobi 40 volt Cordless Backpack/Handheld Blower Kit, model RY404180, is more than the sum of its parts. Note the 'cordless backpack' is not accurate as it has a power cable that connects to the blower. What the Ryobi backpack enables you to do is utilize the runtime of up to 3 - 6Ah batteries to power a Ryobi 40 volt tool.
The Ryobi kit includes a leaf blower which can be used without the backpack, 2-6Ah batteries, a smart charger, and the backpack case with harness.
The Ryobi backpack is dual function, it can not only feed power to a tool, but can be used to recharge up to any three Ryobi 40 volt batteries automatically. Simply insert batteries, plug into the smart charger and walk away. The charger will cycle through each battery until they are all charged. After charging you can plug the backpack to a Ryobi device or take the battery out and attach it to a Ryobi device.
