Cumbres & Toltec: Los Pinos to Chama, New Mexico!

On the way back from Cheyenne, we went through Chama, New Mexico to shoot some video of the Cumbres & Toltec. There's a water tank at Los Pinos, but instead of filling the tender with water, the fireman was washing the fines and dust from the coal, making it easier to shovel into the firebox.
It was a cloudy afternoon filled with thunderstorms, making for a beautiful sky as the train rounded the curve at Apache Crossing and headed toward Cumbres Pass.
Coming down the pass, we caught the train as it crossed Highway 17 at the location known as Coxo. There used to be a siding at Coxo, just west of the highway.
The S curves always make for a dramatic shot and so does Lobato where the train emerges from a stand of Aspen trees.
Finally arriving at Chama, New Mexico, the train passes the double water tank and the iconic coal tower.
