How to change the REAR brakes and rotors on a 2021 Voltswagon Atlas

Описание: *** This video showes how to change the rear brakes and rotors along with the steps to place the Electronic Parking Brake into service mode. I have a separate video detailing how to change the front brakes.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

◇ before you begin, you will either need a scan tool to place the rear brakes in service mode. or you will need to figure out how to manually remove the electronic parking brakes. you can search for this type of video on youtube

◇ loosen your brake master cylinder under the hood. this is where the brake fluid goes. make sure you close it when the brake job is complete (this is only necessary if you need to remove the brake lines)

◇ after the brake job is complete, get inside your vehicle and pump the brakes 4-5 times until the pedal feels tight. the vehicle does not need to be on

◇ and last, if possible, drive the vehicle in a stop and go motion. a few times, increase the speed in a burst pattern then apply the brakes. be careful not to hit anything or anyone in this process

OBDeleven scan tool or any other scan tool capable of placing the electronic parking brake into service mode
brake piston compressor
breaker bar
torque bar
jack/jack stands
long flathead screwdriver
7mm Hex bit
T30 torx bit

brake pads (ceramic) or semi-metallic, and brake hardware
brake cleaner
metal brush
copper anti-seize lubricant
disposable gloves


Instructions to place EPB in service mode using the OBDeleven scan tool:

1. Download and open app
2. Plug in device
3. Click connect (make sure you Bluetooth is on)
4. Setup account or log in
5. Select the Bluetooth device
Once connected it will read the system codes
6. Click Apps
7. Click Workshop
8. Click the search icon
9. Type " Brake Pad Replacement" and click search
10. Click Brake Pad Replacement
11. Read Instructions
12. buy credits (20-40 credits will be needed depending on whether you service both left and right side together or separately)
