Here is a 'dry' video that will introduce the most fundamental points you should understand upon starting your journey into #wingchun #woodendummy training.

The Wing Chun Wooden Dummy is a very simple piece of equipment and will not make you a better fighter, but it does help you not to forget many of the important aspects of the Art.

The dummy form is very much another little notebook of principles and ideas, just like the empty hand forms. The moves used/acquired are not fight sequences, they are far deeper than that! They are to be trained and then translated into live partner training, particularly through Chi Sau and close range sparring.

How you move around the dummy is as important as how fancy your hand and leg techniques are. Without a good 'feel' for the optimum distance and angles it is hard to apply the Wing Chun skills.
