This song was written in summer 2023, for prayer vigil in St. Peter's square at the beginning of synod 2023 (see brother Matthew's speech below).
Adsumus, Sancte Spiritus, veni ad nos, adesto nobis.
Nous voici devant toi, Esprit Saint. Viens à nous, demeure avec nous.
We stand before You, Holy Spirit. Make yourself at home in our hearts.
Wir stehen vor dir, Heiliger Geist. Komm zu uns, steh uns bei.
Estamos ane ti, Espiritu Santo. Ven a nosotros, apóyanos.
Stoimy przed Tobą, Duchu Święty. Przyjdź do nas i zamieszkaj w nas.
We staan voor U, Heilige Geest. Kom tot ons, sta ons bij.
Elötted állunk, Szentlélek, lelj otthonra a szívünkben.
Espírito Santo! Eis-nos aqui, Diante de vos, Ficai connosco.
Tunasimama mbele yako ewe Roho Mtakatifu. Weka maskani yako ndani ya nyoyo zetu.
verses:
Siamo qui dinanzi a te, Spirito Santo: siamo tutti riuniti nel tuo nome. Vieni a noi, assistici, scendi nei nostri cuori.
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it. We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder. Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions. Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right.
Nous te le demandons à Toi, qui agis en tout temps et en tout lieu, dans la communion du Père et du Fils, pour les siècles des siècles.
Amen.

Lyrics: prayer of invocation to the Holy Spirit attributed to St. Isidore of Seville (+ 636)

Br. Matthew (2023-09-08, Press conference in Rome; • Conferenza Stampa di presentazione dell’in... ; 22:10-): The ecumenical prayer vigil in St. Peter’s square is going to begin with the words that we have just heard. “Adsumus, Sancte Spiritus, veni ad nos, adesto nobis.” – we are here before you, Holy Spirit, come to us, dwell in our hearts. Some of you know, and it was discovery for me as well that this prayer is attributed to St. Isidore of Seville, and it has very long history. It was used in many councils, synods and other gatherings throughout the history of the Church at the time when it was a need of discernment, for understanding what the Spirit was saying to the Church today. And it was recited at the beginning of every session of the II Vatican Council. And when we began with the different partners to prepare the prayer vigil then we understood that it was important that the prayer had the place. And several brothers of the Taizé community worked together to create this new composition; is relatively short refrain that will be sung by all who will be present in Latin, and over the refrain you have heard already in the recording there the soloist will sing the full text of the prayer in Italian, English and French. And in that way everybody who is gathered in St. Peter’s square at that moment will be able to invoke the Holy Spirit upon the gathering and entrust the work of the synod to the Holy Spirit. And the song, in a meditative and repetitavie style, it will enable that.
