The process to move the SIM contacts from the Google account to your phone also applies to any other Galaxy phone and is pretty straightforward.

Simply go into the 'Contacts' app.
Tap on the 3 lines on the top left-hand side corner of the 'Contacts' page.
Select 'Manage Contacts'.
Tap on 'Move Contacts'.
Choose where your contacts are. In this case, the Google account.
Select the contacts you want to import. It can be a few or select 'All' to select everything and tap on 'Done'.
Choose where you want to move your contacts to. In this case, the device's memory (Phone).
Tap on 'Move'.
The moving should begin and your contacts should now be saved to the destination you choose (the Phone memory).
Tap on 'OK' when the moving is finished.

Your contacts will now remain on your device memory, even when you remove the Google account from your device altogether.
