The Railroad are one of the few groups in the Commonwealth dedicated to fighting against the tyranny of the Institute. Through stealth and subterfuge, their members strive to liberate Synths from the clutches of their masters. The Railroad are noble in their goals - it's just that this is their only goal. This in turn makes them the worst of the four factions in Fallout 4.
