Artist Statement: This piece explores the tension of power within relationships and how a desire to lead can transform into a struggle for control. In this trio, two dancers circle one another in a constant push and pull, each attempting to take over through movement, space, and energy. What begins as connection slowly unravels into competition, revealing how quickly trust can shift into rivalry. The choreography uses sharp contrasts like fluid partnering interrupted by abrupt breaks, grounded weight challenged by sudden lifts to mirror the instability of different ideas of relationships. In the end, power shifts like breath between them, leaving only the echo of what was once shared.
