Hawke Harbour is the site of the burned down ruins of a whaling Station on the Southern Labrador. The plant burned in 1959. Remnants of the processing plant gives one an idea of the magnitude of this place. It had to be an impressive site on this isolated and wild part of the southern Labrador Coast. I am sure you would have smelled it before you saw it. Cranky Goat Entertainment’s Christopher Richardson and Peter Elliott accompanied me as they filmed two episodes of the CBC Land and Sea Program “No Place Like it”. Check it out at:
