The first option is to echo out the current song and simply play the next song.

So it works like this. You let the first song play, and when you reach a part where you want to transition out of, you do 3 things.

First activate echo on the deck, then cut it’s volume or stop the song in any way you want, and then play the next song, and you can play the next song by either just playing it, scratching it in, or cue pointing it in.

The second way involves creating a loop on the next song and mixing it in with the current song.

So this one takes a little bit of anticipation. Now, the loop length and it’s location totally depends on your preference and creativity.

So this is how this method works.

You let the first song play and when you reach a section where you want to mix out from, you trigger the next songs loop. And this loop can either start with it’s volume all the way down, or with it’s filter knob all the way to the left side.

Now when you trigger the loop, slowly bring it in the mix, and stop the previous song by either just stopping it, lowering it’s volume or doing a spin back. I personally prefer any of these with an echo effect activated. And once you’ve faded the previous song away, release the loop and play the song.

And finally we have the cleanest way to mix in and out. But this one involves preparation. You gotta know the next song.

So here’s the idea. We determine on the next song, how many beats it has before it actually begins, and we make a cue point there.

Then on the current song, we look at the section where we want to be done mixing out from, and count backwards the number of beats the next song has before it actually starts, and we make a cue point there.

Now determining the number of beats the next song begins totally depends on the song and your preference.

So now that we know these two things, we then do 4 things in this transition.

1st play the current song,
Then wait for the section where we want to mix in, which we’ve marked
Then play the next song via the cue point we just made on It. And it can begin with volume down or filter all the way to the left side. It totally depends on you

Then just do some standard mixing and finessing, and you’re done.
