Welcome to the Collector Series—a dive into the spirited world of breweriana collecting! The Cone Top Brewery Museum has partnered with the National Association Breweriana Advertising (NABA) to showcase the passion and stories behind the collections of dedicated NABA members. From vintage outdoor signs to lithographs that once graced taproom walls, each collector shares their passion for the hobby, how they got started and some of their favorite pieces.
Breweriana provides a remarkable glimpse of our past and the American breweries that have shaped today's culture. These collector stories are a testament to why preserving brewery history is so important. Through these videos we are able to represent the collector’s appreciation for breweriana and we hope to create a spark in new generations to join the conservation of beer memorabilia. These collector videos will be a part of the vast collection and ongoing preservation effort at The Cone Top Brewery Museum in Vicksburg, Michigan.

About the Collector:
David Birk
Columbia, IL
Imagine an atmospheric speakeasy, richly paneled with oak the color of espresso. What if you could step back in time and enjoy a brew in a beautifully decorated space, resplendent with Pre-Prohibition era lithographs, reverse-on-glass signs and etched drinking glasses in a period setting? You don’t have to imagine any of this at Dave Birk’s beautiful home—you can actually experience it.
Dave’s lovely home presents a remarkable collection of beautiful, rare and, in some cases, unique Pre-Prohibition breweriana. He has painstakingly assembled this special grouping of breweriana from the St. Louis and Southern Illinois area over many years and it can be thoroughly enjoyed in this elegant, yet comfortable setting.
