"Well the string of hits really began with a song “Your the Only World I Know” that I had written with Bob Tubert. That came about kind of as a unusual kind of writing. I was having breakfast one morning with my wife here in Nashville and I had an idea for a song and I called Bob Tubert and he was doing the same thing he was having breakfast. I said Bob I've got an idea that I would like for you to work on the lyric. I have the melody already in my mind. I said I want each phrase to begin with the word “you”. Anyway it was a very personal song and I said I want it real simple, nothing complicated, just statements, each phrase just a statement. And he said that would be unusual and you don't want it to get deep? I said no no. Just very simple. I want it to be talking to your girlfriend or your wife, someone you love. He said alright, I'll work on it. So he came up with the lyric and the title. . . He got the title when he was just working on I suppose certain phrases and it just came across and I never will forget him calling and saying . . . "I've got it Sonny, it was in the shower! I've got it, I've got it! And he was all excited and he said You're The Only World I Know. I said sure."
