Assembling a Handwoven Guitar Strap by Lorna Pollock.
First I wove two 2” wide straps on my inkle loom. They were 80” long. I used 8/4 cotton, which is similar to sock or fingering weight yarn. Some people say that mercerized cotton slides better against clothing. That’s probably more important for those who play electric guitar. These straps were for acoustic guitars. Then I ordered two kits of the 2” wide leather and nickel finish metal hardware for my straps. These kits come in 1-1/2” and 2” widths. Be sure to get the correct width for your handwoven straps. You could make your own strap ends with leather, faux leather or upholstery material. If you don’t want metal hardware, you can get plastic parts from some vendors.
I hope you enjoy the video! Give me a thumbs up and subscribe! I periodically offer a variety of weaving or other fiber arts videos on my channel. Enjoy my accordion music too!
I wish you a joyous day! 😁🎶☀️❤️❤️
