What is the invisible setting?

However, the invisible setting is different. The setting allows the jewelry to hold gems without any metal edges or prongs. This type of setting was invented in French by Van Cleef & Arpels in 1933. The setting is also known as The Mystery Setting™.

The design of jewelry and gem cut will allow the gems to stay tightly together. A round diamond is not appropriate for this kind of setting.
