This bread recipe is so easy to follow. To make this sausage kolaches ,fully cooked sausage is used in this bread recipe. Kolaches are famoust in the United States and mostly served in the morning for breakfast , work breaks or snacks. Sausage is wrapped with dough and bake for few minutes. I had been wanting to make this and the day came, I finally did it! It was a success!
Ingredients:
4 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar + 1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg
1/3 cup +1tbsp unsalted butter
2/3 warm water
20 pcs cooked sausage
1 egg for brushing
Yeast mixture
2 1/4 tsp Active yeast
2/3 cup warm milk
1 tbsp sugar
Note: The recipe makes 20 Kolaches. I had only 10 pcs sausage in hand so I just made 10 kolaches and the rest of the dough. I made a plain bread. Bake at 350 F for 15- 20 minutes or till it looks golden brown.
NOTE: rise dough in aroom temperature for about 1 hour or till it double its size.
