The story is that Dean and Cas were dating and it was an okay relationship. One day while driving home to the bunker, they were in a car accident and Cas died from the force. Dean had injuries but nothing major. At first Dean had nightmares and saw Cas everywhere he went but it slowly faded and he thought about the memories, mostly bad ones and even though Cas was sometimes abusive, Dean forgave him because he knew he never meant any harm and he loved him
