The next part of our trip was a day in Texas! We were so close to the border, we couldn’t not go.

After a quick Google search of what to do in El Paso, we decided to travel along the historic Mission Trail and visit the 3 oldest churches in El Paso: Ysleta Mission, Socorro Mission and San Elizario Presidio and Chapel. Each have their own unique beauty and history, which we enjoyed learning about.

We tried some Tex-Mex enchiladas at the highly-rated L&J Cafe, then stopped by Guadalupe Mountains National Park before heading back to New Mexico.
