Teen Girl Dragged by car

Описание: Police are appealing for information after a teenager was dragged several metres by a car and left critically injured on a street in Casula last month.

Samantha Giufre, 18, was found in a gutter on Myall Road just before 6pm on Sunday 7 September 2014.

An ambulance took Samantha to Liverpool Hospital, where she remains in intensive care with multiple fractures to her skull and face, along with bleeding on the brain.

As a result of her injuries, Samantha is believed to be blind in one eye. Her hearing is also affected.

Detectives from Liverpool Local Area Command have formed Strike Force O’Loughlin to investigate the incident, and today released CCTV footage as part of a public appeal for information.

The footage shows Samantha being dragged along Myall Road by a silver-coloured sedan before falling from the vehicle at the intersection with Ingham Drive.

“We’re looking for information to identify the occupants of the car and to help us piece together events leading up to the incident,” Detective Inspector Dean Johnstone, Liverpool Local Area Crime Manager, said.

“Samantha’s parents have been told their daughter has brain damage that will create ongoing medical issues for the rest of her life, and it’s likely she will need to re-learn how to walk, talk and eat.

“We are doing everything in our power to find out who left Samantha by the side of the road with such serious injuries – an act the can only be described as cowardly and callous,” Det Insp Johnstone said.
