Shamrock Banks Live! - Comet Hunting

Описание: Tonight we will have the inaugural live stream from the new observatory. All the tests are done, the telescope is collimated, focused and polar aligned, LET'S GO FIND SOME COMETS!!!!!

We will use the RASA 11, ZWO 6200 Color Camera and Celestron CGX-L mount to find some of the comets currently visible- Taking and stacking 60 x 60sec exposures. Then we'll run the images through Tycho Tracker and make some scientific observations of the comets and asteroids we catch- reporting their position and orbits to the Minor Planet Center.

Thanks to the generosity of our benefactors, Shamrock Banks Observatory has obtained as second ZWO 6200- this one is a monochrome camera and will be the primary camera for the observatory and our asteroid work in the coming weeks. I'll see about getting a few shots inside the observatory to show its function as well.
