Let's compare the new 2024 Ford Ranger to the 2024 Nissan Frontier back to back and see how the 'affordable' mid sized trucks compare! Looking at the Ranger and Frontier, you can actually buy these trucks nicely equipped for under $40,000. In todays market thats pretty affordable when nicer trucks like the 2024 Tacoma and 2024 Canyon can be $60,000 loaded up! The Ranger and Frontier both look pretty similar with a more basic exterior design and a very simple interior. Both are nice enough and look much better then previous generations. The back seats in the Frontier are very cramped with small seats and a straight up back. The Ranger is much more spacious back there and is certainly bigger and more comfortable. Both have similar looking dashboard, but the new Ranger has very nice screen for infotainment and instrument cluster. The Nissan looks a bit old for tech and is more basic. The 2024 Frontier only has a V6 option. Very simple engine and pretty reliable. The Ford Ranger has a turbo 4 cylinder and two V6 turbo engines available! A lot more power for the Ford offerings and it makes the Ranger more fun to drive with the extra power. But we'll have to see if they can be reliable for the long term. So overall I think the Ranger and Frontier are the more basic trucks in this class, but that means they can be bought for better pricing then other. You get a nice useful truck in both of these and realistically more modern tech and features in the Ranger.
