Описание: Oberammergau is a town in the Bavarian Alps, Germany. It’s known for its once-a-decade performance of the Passion Play, the NATO School and the Kofel Mountain in the Bavarian Alps.

The Kofel is the signature mountain in Oberammergau and its unique shape can be easily recognized from a long distance.

Bavaria is traditionally Catholic and you could find many places in town for devotionals. Early on your hike to the summit you can find the Lourdes Grotto. This location was built around the 1900s as part of a vow of an answered prayer. Today this place is still popular among people for contemplation and prayer.

The last hundred meters of elevation are covered in a summit climb which is suitable even for families with children. Steep and exposed sections are secured by fixed steel cables. This might be a little bit challenging for those with fear of heights but if you are able to overcome it, the view is magnificent.
