🔹 Question 46
Consider a uniformly charged hemispherical shell.
What can you say about the direction of the electric field at a point lying on the equatorial plane of the hemisphere
In this question, we analyze the symmetry of charge distribution on a hemispherical shell and determine the direction of the resultant electric field at a point on its equatorial plane by resolving field components.
🔹 Question 47
Consider a uniformly charged thin spherical shell as shown in the figure.
The radius of the shell is R.
The electric field at point P is E.
Find the electric field at point Q, given that x less than R.
Coordinates of point P: x, 0, 0
Coordinates of point Q: −x, 0, 0
This problem is based on the properties of electric fields due to a uniformly charged spherical shell and uses symmetry and Gauss’s Law to compare the electric fields at two symmetric points inside the shell.
