In November 2020, Berlin ScienceWeek was running online with various topics and insights into a broad field of science. Anyone interested in background information on everyday science will find a format with comprehensive approaches.

On the 7th November, from 3 – 5 pm SoapboxScience Berlin was holding two sessions at the Berlin Science Week 2020. One in English and one in German.

What is SoapboxScience?
We bring science to the public, and highlight the work of women* in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

Why are we on Berlin Science Week?
Berlin is a hub of knowledge and culture, that hosts very successful Soapbox Science events every year since 2017, with an increasing interest both from the “Berliners” and the different institutions. The diversity of the city is reflected in the different research institutes focusing on a wide range of fields. Despite all this, less than one third of the professors in Berlin are women. We want to bring science closer to society and to promote gender-equality in academia by providing women scientists with a platform for promoting their own work and discipline. Several women* scientists that share their passion for experimentation, discovery and innovation will present their work in an exciting and accessible way. Curious about science?
