This Don Black-Vic Lewis song has special meaning for me since I had sent it to Connie Francis to record after hearing a version that Keely Smith had just completed.
Upon receiving it, Connie immediately called to ask if I could get her a lead sheet. I relayed this to Don, and just two weeks later he and Vic flew to New York to attend her April 7 1965 recording of their song. While there, they immediately arranged a UK promotion trip for the following month.
Connie appeared on all the major TV pop shows of the day, resulting in a return to the UK charts.
