Hi! I'm going to try really hard to get more covers up on this channel again, and thought I'd try a song on the newest member of my musical instrument collection!
Let me know what you think of this video, and if you have any suggestions of songs you'd like to see me cover in the future.

MORE ABOUT ME:
Fern Teather is a singer/songwriter from Suffolk (UK), playing her own style of acoustic folk-rock with an Americana twist. she's been described as “A fantastic young artist, with an enchanting and infectious song-writing style” by Tom Simpkins from BBC Cambridgeshire, and by Maverick Magazine as an“incredibly talented singer-songwriter, whose tone belies her youth”.
After playing more than 200 gigs and releasing 2 EP’s since starting out in 2012, Fern decided it was time to record her first album ‘Hiding in the Dark’, featuring 11 tracks, which she launched on 30th October 2015.
In order to help fund the album making process, she launched a Kickstarter campaign where fans of her music could pledge different amounts of money in return for limited editions rewards including wristbands, signed copies of the finished CD, T-shirts, handwritten lyrics, and even house gigs.
The campaign turned out to be incredibly successful, reaching it’s target of £2,000 in just 10 days!
”Thank you so much to everyone who helped me achieve my goal!
I'm blown away by the amount of support I've received, and really pleasantly surprised by everyone's generosity”
Fern’s played many well known venues and festivals including Cambridge Folk Festival, FolkEast, The Apex, and The Montreux Jazz Café in Harrods. She’s also supported lots of renowned artists including Karine Polwart, Fairport Convention, Paper Aeroplanes, Angel Snow, and Bella Hardy.
When performing live, Fern’s joined by percussionist Sam Thurlow, who brings an extra dimension to her music with his subtle, tactile and almost lyrical accompaniment on a variety of hand-drums. People often comment on how well he compliments Fern's music.
Inspired by bands and artists such as Laura Marling, Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, The Staves, and many more, Hiding in the Dark features an inspiring collection of songs exploring life in all its guises. Friendships, relationships, hope, reflection, taking risks and living in the moment are all tackled with a finesse that belies Fern’s age, and is guaranteed to hold the audience spellbound in a wash of emotions and mind pictures. In Fern’s words, she writes her songs to “celebrate life’s ‘ups’ and deal with life’s ‘downs’”.
Fern blogs, vlogs, and uses social media as regularly as she can around her hectic schedule of performing, recording, writing and providing vocal backing for other bands/artists. Aware of the fact that her life is not that of a typical nineteen year old, and realising that most people have never been in a recording studio, Fern was determined to capture the album making process on film to share with her online audience.
“I really liked the idea of people being involved with the album process, so I decided to film every day I spent at the studio. I thought it would be a good opportunity to show people a 'behind the scenes' look at making an album, and also give me something to remember it by”.
