Season 4 - Preview! Feb 28th, 2026 - "Cracking Open the Hives after the great freeze last month!"

Recap of Season 3 - 2025:
What we started with:
Phoenix Hive - The season 2 strong hive that made it through Winter 2024.
Eclipse Hive - The season 3 hive that did awesome all year.
Spicy Hive - The Season 3 hive with super aggressive bee geneology.

We ended Season 3 with 5 Hives... (Season 3 was the season of SWARMS)
Phoenix Hive - Never swarmed, it kept it's original queen from Season 2 all through season 3. It ended with a very high mite count, and was on our watch list, hoping that the end of season treatments could sustain it through winter.

Eclipse Hive - Low Mite count, hoping the end of season treatment would help it survive through winter. Eclipse hive swarmed once... but the new queen was strong and kicked ass the rest of the season.

Spicy hive swarmed 5 times and in the last time had 9 queen cells. So we decided to do a forced split. We turned Spicy into two new hives called: Jalapeño and Cayenne Hives.

Jalapeño - This hive went into winter with a low mite count. New queen with agressive tendencies. But seemed to have mated with a drone with less agressive Genes. So it's still aggressive if annoyed enough or cloudy out.

Cayenne - The hive went into winter with low mite count. The queen mated with a dirt bag drone who also was aggressive. Every time I open this hive, the bees get pissy and come at my veil.

And then Johnny 5 Hive - This was a late split from EITHER Jalapeño or random swarm from somewhere else. But it landed in the swarming tree. We captured it. Put it in the box in mid october. Sadly this just is SUPER unfortunately late for a split to occur. It was a super long shot.
