Описание: Here’s a glimpse of what it takes to be an NDC & Kerrygold Quality Milk Awards nationalist finalist – the pride, passion, standards and attention to detail required to yield the highest quality milk, which is then used to produce the best tasting Irish dairy products that are enjoyed the world over.

PJ & Bernie Boylan from Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan were nominated and put forward by Glanbia/GII for this year’s awards and are one of the 15 national finalists at the 2014 NDC & Kerrygold Quality Milk Awards.

The national competition sets out to identify Ireland’s top dairy farmers with the overall winning dairy farmer receiving a prize of €5,000 and the NDC & Kerrygold Quality Milk Awards perpetual trophy at the awards ceremony in October each year.

Detailed technical data about each farm is scrutinised by the expert national judging panel of Professor Patrick Wall (Associate Professor of Public Health at UCD), Dr David Gleeson (Milk Quality Research, Teagasc) and Dr. Jack Kennedy (Dairy Editor, Irish Farmers Journal). This includes assessing milk quality records for over twelve months along with information about milking practices and facilities, care of the environment, sustainable practices, dairy herd health, animal welfare and general farm management. All finalists also undergo on-farm inspection as part of the assessment process.
