Dr. Val identified six dimensions of knowledge critical for leaders in higher education to be
successful in their role. This framework helps identify your values, strengths and areas of
opportunity for leading with purpose and creating holistic, equitable, and inclusive learning
experiences for all students to achieve their full potential.

Val Margarit is an award-winning educational leader, speaker, trainer, and author of Why Not
You? How to Become an Empowered Woman and The Successful Student Mindset. She has
degrees in higher education leadership and sociology, a mindfulness meditation practitioner and a longtime student of neuroplasticity.

Val is a first generation college student and is passionate about education equity, justice, and inclusion and her vision is to empower students of all ages to unlock their personal power and to believe that "achieving one’s full potential has less to do with genetics and IQ and everything to do with opportunities, resources, and how one thinks about and lives their life: habits, self-discipline, resilience, effort, deep work, and mindsets."

Dr. Val has 15 year of experience in education, she lectures and speaks about transformational leadership education, teacher preparation and training. She lives a holistic and mindful lifestyle, loves to run, and to challenge herself - mentally, physically and spiritually.
