Hiking Alone in Jotunheimen Norway. Climbing Kyrkja Peak from Leirvassbu July 2025

Описание: Jotunheimen. The incredible and infamous hike to Kyrkja, The Church, Alone from Leirvassbu, filmed on July 11th 2025 with a lot of snow still on the ground. It is searing hot in the mountains as a heatwave has reached Norway, even up here in Jotunheimen it is hot that snow is disappearing fast and getting wet and slushy. I started a bit late in the day, a blue bird day, and brought my ice axe and micro-spikes, not necessary but I had a plan. This hike has some sketchy climbing spots and is a little bit frightening when you look up at it, but dont be too concerned, it looks more frightening than it is. I include some maps towards the end of the video and some alternate climbing route descriptions. The climbs are more like scrambles and not technical but with a lot of exposure, you dont want to fall. This is not a silent hike, I walk and talk and tell you whats up!

My original channel ‪@NorwegianXplorer‬ is now focused on my Van and Storm videos, so I wanted a clean new channel for my backpacking and hiking trips where I go back to my basics with no sensational storms and weather, unless that should occur on my backpacking trip.

My gear is the basics I have used for a long time, HMG backpack, La-Sportiva shoes, Arcteryx, Devold and Norrøna clothing and some other stuff. Petzl ice-axe. Filmed on DJI pocked 3 and Sony a7mk4 with the basic kit lense to save weight.
