About Rorisang & The Gurlz:

K-pop superfan, Rorisang, is on a quest to start an AfroPop band with her group of besties at her conservative all-girls high school: standing in their way is their backward choir Mistress. Together they must do whatever it takes to prove her wrong and reach musical superstardom.
In this first episode Rorisang is back for her second year of high school, but with horrible nightmares & oceans of homework ahead not to mention the added pressure from mom - will she succeed in getting through the first week back?

We spent all of 2024 animating the first episode! This is a labour of love and commitment from all of us at Cabblow Studios.

Rorisang & The Gurlz is a proudly South African 2D animated series where K-pop meets AfroPop, and schoolgirl drama meets big dreams. Created by Kabelo “Cabblow” Maaka and produced by Cabblow Studios, this indie animation is quickly becoming an African animation icon—with 70K+ views across social media and almost 12K reads on Webtoon!
