Also, I know a lot of people thought this game was going to be an otome, but it is a joseimuke.

Joseimuke (女性向け/じゅせいむけ) means “targeted toward women,” but it’s not the same as an otome game. Otome usually implies romance-focused gameplay with a female protagonist and multiple love interests. Joseimuke, on the other hand, is a broader genre that simply caters to female tastes—it often features attractive male characters, emotionally charged stories, and spicy interactions, but doesn’t necessarily revolve around dating. It may also include strong lead female characters—not necessarily as player inserts, but as central figures in the narrative—adding to the genre’s emotional and aesthetic appeal.
