Poblacion ubicada a orillas del rio del mismo nombre, a unos 200 Klms. al sur de Ciudad Guayana y a 1 hora de la represa del Guri. De tradicion minera, agricola y pesquera. Una de las poblaciones mas antiguas del pais. Grupos indigenas Yekuana y Pemon habitan en esta zona.
Located south of Ciudad Bolivar,about 200 klms. and one hour drive from the Guri Dam and Hidroelectric complex. The town of La Paragua got its name from the river that sorrounds it. It's Known for its gold and diamond mining, agriculture (mainly corn) and cattle, as well as fishing. Indigenous Yekuana and Pemon comunities live in this region also.
