Zuniga recently completed his third season with the Hawaiʻi Rainbow Warriors baseball under head coach Rich Hill, helping lead the Rainbow Warriors to another statistically dominant year on the mound.

Hawaiʻi finished the regular season with a 3.44 ERA, ranking first in the Big West and third nationally. The Rainbow Warriors also ranked among the national leaders in WHIP, hits allowed per nine innings and opponent batting average while recording seven shutouts — the program’s most since 1992.

During the conversation, Zuniga reflects on what the numbers mean to him and why the development and culture within the pitching staff matter even more.

The episode also dives into the rise of standout pitcher Isaiah Magdaleno, who posted 116 strikeouts, a 2.65 ERA and logged 95 innings this season. Zuniga discusses watching Magdaleno evolve throughout his collegiate career and what has made him such a special arm for the program.
