Super Neptunia RPG takes the Neptunia series in a new direction with a 2D side-scrolling format inspired by Valkyrie Profile — but for me, the result was more disappointing than revolutionary.
I went into this game excited by the premise and the Valkyrie Profile influence, but what I found was a game that struggled with shallow combat, repetitive design, and underwhelming execution of its big ideas.
In this review, I cover where the game falls short and whether it’s still worth checking out for die-hard Neptunia fans or fans of 2D JRPGs.
