This week Schony747 features the 707 Operations Winelander on the Geelong to Ballarat Freight Line. the V/Line Passenger Diesel Locomotives A66 and N452 entered service in 1985. Both locomotives are still hauling mainline trains 40 years on. The line itself opened in 1862 and closed to passenger train services in 1978. Non stop passenger trains from Melbourne used the line until the 1990s. Some of the bluestone stations that were originally built along the route still survive but don't see any passenger use.
