Greenland is the world's largest island with fifty six thousand people and not a single road connecting its towns. Every journey between cities requires a plane, helicopter, boat or dog sled. The geography makes road building nearly impossible with fjords over a thousand meters deep, an ice sheet covering eighty percent of the land and permafrost that destroys anything built on top of it. The economics just never made sense until twenty twenty five when Greenland finally got its first land connection between two towns. A dirt track passable only by off road vehicles.
