According to levels.fyi, in 2023 alone, around 70,000 tech employees have been laid off. In 2022, almost 160,000 people have been laid off in tech. Companies that felt like secure havens have let their employees go, so this begs a question: is anywhere safe these days? Can you have job security anywhere?
I wanted to create a video to help people who feel out of control with the current situation, to give them an exercise that will help them strategize. To take control over their career before it’s swept away by the “flow” of events.
Whether you have a job and you’re worried about your job security, or you’ve been laid off - or you’re currently looking for your next opportunity, this exercise will help you.
