Work has been progressing on the Assizes for Devizes project since we were awarded a Development Grant by The National Lottery Heritage Fund a year ago. We have been out and about in our communities, speaking to over 1,000 people about how they want to use the new museum and what they want to see. At the same time, we are working behind the scenes with our architects and engineers to bring the building back to life.
This is a complex project, and we still have lots of work to do. We are aiming to submit a second application to The National Lottery Heritage Fund in August 2025. If this application is successful, then we can start turning our plans into reality, with a target opening date of 2030. Before then, we have a massive fundraising challenge to meet, starting with applications to major Trusts and Foundations.
