Oftimes performed as a "patriotic" victory song, the reality is that the battle of Killiecrankie (1689) is yet another of Scotland`s shames in that it depicts Scot killing fellow Scot over " religious" differences, giving rise to the utterance "...so many killing factions claim God to be on their side, God must wonder who is on His...?"
