The report further noted that US President Donald Trump had asked for a “swift Iranian response” to the proposal tabled by Washington. The Pakistani aide, the report stated, also hinted at a possible solution to the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, saying that an understanding could be reached in that regard.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, meanwhile, spoke by phone with his Pakistani counterpart about the latest regional developments, according to his Telegram account. Araghchi said both sides stressed the need to continue pursuing “dialogue and diplomacy”, as well as boosting cooperation between regional states.
